New build purchase process - Stage 2
At this stage you can decide to elect a legal representative in your home country to assist you during this important period of the buying process.
The contractual documents include the reservation contract, the technical description, the floor plan, the commercial lease (for leasebacks) and furniture list (should this be available).
These are usually in French and are sent to you for you to sign and return to the developer. Should the developer provide English translations, you will receive these along with an explanatory letter from us. Once the developer has received these documents, they are countersigned and returned to your home address by recorded delivery. Your seven day ‘cooling-off’ period starts the day after you receive these. Up until the end of this window, you may change your mind and pull out of the purchase without losing your deposit. Incidences of this are rare; however, it is useful to know this facility exists under French law. After this point, both you and the developer are tied into the contract.
You will be working with a customer care member of the team within the language and law department who will keep you informed of events.
Once work has started on the site, the second payment according the schedule in the reservation contract will be due. This happens at the same time as the drafting of the final deed.
